Setting Up
Eudora
Eudora is a powerful e-mail
program from Qualcomm. It can be run in one of three modes:
Paid Mode, which costs $39.95 and allows you to use all
Eudora's features with no ads.
Sponsored Mode, which includes a square advertisement in the
bottom-left corner of the screen. Sponsored mode also allows you to use
all Eudora's featues, and is free.
Light Mode, which is ad-free and costs nothing, but removes
some of Eudora's features (such as spell-checking, stationery, address
auto-completion, etc.)
Most users will be interested in using the Eudora's Sponsored or
Light mode. (You can change modes at any time by clicking the Help
menu, clicking the Payment & Registration menu item, then
choosing the mode you want.)
In Light mode, Eudora only supports a single user (which it calls the
"Dominant" account). In Paid or Sponsored mode, Eudora supports
"Multiple Personalities" which allows one or more user to manage
multiple e-mail accounts. The way that you configure Eudora will depend
on the mode you're using.
Double-click the Eudora icon to start Eudora. If this is the first
time you have run Eudora, you may get the New Account Wizard. If not,
follow the steps below for setting up an account manually.
